Covert Surveillance

One of our specialties at Foster’s Investigative Services is video surveillance.

We conduct investigations regarding insurance fraud, infidelity, and other family/civil law matters. The data has shown that we consistently bring in more video of our subjects than our competitors. We believe this is a result of several factors.

Experience and Skill Set When Mr. Foster began conducting surveillance operations back in 2015, it was immediately apparent that he has a natural ability to monitor and document a subject’s activities while remaining discrete. He has always found ways to obtain video of subjects in some the most challenging circumstances. While many investigators dislike working surveillance cases, Mr. Foster still enjoys the challenge and considers it to be one of his favorite services to provide. Interestingly enough, if you have used other private investigation companies in the Jackson area for surveillance services, there is a good chance Mr. Foster has already assisted you, as some of the most popular companies in Jackson have subcontracted their surveillance cases to Mr. Foster in the past. Cutting Edge Technology -We have invested in the most advanced technology available for gathering evidence. We have found most investigators rely on cheap alternatives to the newest, ultramodern video equipment. We utilize several different cameras (see our blog entry for more details) that have advanced features such as WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, which allow us to monitor places from our computers, iPads, and cell phones. We have also successfully obtained video evidence from the use of unmanned cameras in locations that would not have been suitable for a manned- surveillance operation. -We also utilize “bridge cameras,” that allow us to obtain video from incredible distances. In past cases, we have successfully recorded subjects that were 3 miles away from the investigator’s location. -Through research and trial and error, we have found which covert cameras are most effective for gathering evidence while staying discrete. Many investigators choose cheaper, foreign made covert cameras that are unreliable and limited in their functionality.  We have cameras the size of keychains that have WiFi connectivity and shoot video in 4K. PREPARATION We give ourselves the best chance at success when we do the appropriate research and as much information as possible about our subjects prior to our fist day of surveillance. In order to be properly prepared for a new case, we gather information from our clients, social media platforms, proprietary databases, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and various open-source intelligence websites. If our subject lives in the area, we will visit the site prior to our first day to get a feel for the area, gather license plate/vehicle information, and examine the pros and cons of setting up in particular parking spaces. If the subject is not local, we spend time on Google Earth in order to observe the environment. The more information we are able to gather before starting on a case, the more likely we are to achieve success.
